The information in this section is limited to residents of the Ridgewood Neighborhood Association.
Ridgettes
The Ridgettes are a group of Ridgewood ladies that gets together regularly to have lunch, play games and celebrate birthdays. The group took a break over COVID, but hope to start meeting monthly again in 2024. All Ridgewood ladies are welcome.

Ridgewood
Community Safety
We have collected a number of safety resources for our residents in the Ridgewood Neighborhood. We suggest that all residents practice the recommendations in the Neighborhood Watch Program Guidelines:
Neighborhood Watch Program Guidelines
- Know your block captain.
- Know your neighbors.
- Inform at least two of your neighbors when you plan to be away.
- When your neighbors are away, watch for items left in their driveway.
- When you plan to be away, have your mail, and newspaper stopped.
- Make sure your house number is clearly visible from the road. The number should be reflective. Signs are available at local hardware stores or from the Sheriff’s Department.
- Make sure all entry points such as the front door and garage doors are well lit.
- Consider putting several lights in your home on timers, which come on at different times.
Additionally, we have put together a Home Security Check List for residents as a starting point for their own home security.
The Tuolumne County Sherif’s website has additional information about safety programs as well as emergency alerts that you can register to receive.
House Number Signs
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Community Service Unit requests that each resident place a house number sign on their mailbox. It insures that emergency vehicles can easily locate your house.
House number signs may be attained at Sheriff’s community information Office in the Junction shopping center. To save a few minutes, the Form for house numbers should be filled out prior to ordering the sign.
Fire Arms
The use of fire arms in Ridgewood is restricted for both safety and noise. Section 8.28 of the County Ordinances details the fire arms restrictions.
Recycling & Garbage
Waste Management will collect recyclable material through their garbage collection service or you may take your recyclable materials to their facilities. Information about Waste Management residential services, recycling options and facility locations is available on the Waste Management Website for Sonora.
