Ridgewood Community
Ridgewood is a community of about 163 homes in the Sierra foothills located about 6 miles east of Sonora California (See the MAPS page for exact location). Ridgewood was developed under the guide lines of its Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (See the CCRs page for details) which specifies a minimum house size of 1800 square feet and a minimum lot size of 3 acres.
At about 2600 feet above sea level, Ridgewood is below the snow level and above the valley fog. Temperatures in the summer average daily from 70 to 95 and in the winter from 30 to 50.
Local shopping is 5 miles from Ridgewood and includes Safeway, Savemart, PriceCo, Kohls, Wal-Mart, Wilco, Lowes, and many convenient local stores. For comprehensive shopping, Modesto is 55 miles from Ridgewood and the San Francisco Bay area is about 120 miles from Ridgewood.
Activities are many and include golf, skiing, flying, the theater, county parks, state parks, U.S. parks, wine tasting, women’s clubs, and men’s clubs.
Ridgewood Neighborhood Association
The Ridgewood Neighborhood Association provides continued enhancement to the Ridgewood community. Membership dues are $20.00 per year.
Ridgewood 108 Firewise Community was formed in 2019, consists of 618.7 acres, and includes all of Ridgewood residents (I, II and III). Ridgewood 108 Firewise community is a Nationally recognized Firewise community which requires yearly certification to remain active and recognized by NFPA as approved. Purpose
The purpose of the Ridgewood Neighborhood Association is the following:
- Encourage communication, cooperation, and friendliness among the residents
- Maintain and increase the spirit of awareness, security, and beauty in our community
- Express the interest and opinions of the residents to our local government
- Enhance the quality of our neighborhood
Membership and Governance
Membership in our Association is limited to only residents of the Ridgewood I, Ridgewood II and Ridgewood III subdivisions located in East Sonora in Tuolumne County.
The Association is governed by its by-laws and administered by the RNA Board of Directors who are elected by the membership. Membership meetings are held at least twice a year with the date, time, and location announced in advance.
